The Ballad of Vagari and the Camp That Was Not There

Of all the Moon People of Borea, Vagari was probably the most famous one. He was one of the most skillful thieves to ever walk the world. Songs and stories about his expoits are countless. But the other Moon People were capable of rather impressive feats as well. They could move entire long-term established camps within shortest time, and not leave a trace. And even communicate the new location to others.

Lyrics English

Verse:
Sly Vagari once walked the streets of proud and prosperous Bragana.
Deft Vagari once climbed the walls of the Lord of proud Bragana's home.
Swift Vagari once entered the chambers of lovely Lady, Galima.
Grand Vagari once stole from the lady a coin the Lord held dear.

Chorus:
Lo, we sing of Vagari so deft, so bold, so swift and sly;
Not guard, nor blade, or tallest walls could keep your treasure safe.
Lo, we sing of Vagari the grand, the master of disguise;
He who could outrun a wolf and hide in broad daylight.

Verse:
The raging Lord sent out his guard to search and scout the lands for the thief;
Deep in the woods, there layeth hidden the moonfolk's camp, be believed.
One night it was found, in the midst of a clearing the camp filled with laughter and song;
The scout returned home, unnoticed it seemed and the Lord soon rallied his men.

Chorus:
Lo, we sing of Vagari so deft, so bold, so swift and sly;
Not guard, nor blade, or tallest walls could keep your treasure safe.
Lo, we sing of Vagari the grand, the master of disguise;
He who could outrun a wolf and hide in broad daylight.

Bridge:
He feared no guard, nor blade so keen;
In day and night he moved unseen.
Made every lady sing sweet song;
And could outrun the fast Epon.

Verse:
Came morning the soldiers marched in the forest, lead on by the scout from before;
They arrived at the camp but, how strange, they found nothing but birdsong filling the air.
They searched and they waited but no trace was found, like the camp had never been there;
No tears must be shed for Vagari today and no hearts be filled with despair.

Chorus:
Lo, we sing of Vagari so deft, so bold, so swift and sly;
Not guard, nor blade, or tallest walls could keep your treasure safe.
Lo, we sing of Vagari the grand, the master of disguise;
He who could outrun a wolf and hide in broad daylight.
