The Serpents Tongue

Kumar al'Dschvani was a famous and mysterious figure. An overweight, sickly man with a large crooked nose, that's how he's shown on every painting and illustration that exists of him. Allegedly, he wanted the artists to depict him as he was, with no flattery whatsoever.

He was also a supposed master swordsman who never lost a single duel in his life. It was claimed that a single cut with his sword would kill his opponent like the bites of a hundred snakes. However, how such a seemingly frail man could even dare to duel to begin with, is a mystery.

Lyrics English

Verse:
Yonder the sea, where the old legends dwell;
There lived a man, as the tales do so tell.
A man of renown, he was feared and revered;
His name whispered softly, his deeds loudly cheered.

A visage so pale, his skin mottled and wan;
An overweight figure, by all paintings drawn;
His nose crooked large, no beauty displayed;
Yet truth was his wish, no lies conveyed.

Chorus:
Kumar al Dsch'vaani, the hero, the fiend;
A face unadorned and a mind ever keen.
His serpentine blade, always at his side;
Ever victorious was he immortalized.

Verse:
A strategist bright, what an army he led;
But tales of his cruelty, in whispers they spread.
Some called him a tyrant, delighting in pain,
Yet his prowess in battle none could disdain.

His mighty sword, sharp as a dragon's breath;
Slicing through steel, leaving nothing but death.
Sickness it brought if not touched by its heft;
A lick of its split tongue, and nothing was left.

Chorus:
Kumar al Dsch'vaani, the hero, the fiend;
A face unadorned and a mind ever keen.
His serpentine blade, always at his side;
Ever victorious was he immortalized.

Verse:
Never lost a duel, his skill was unmatched,
With swift deadly grace, his foes dispatched.
A mystery remains, how such a man frail,
Could wield such great power and in battle prevail.

So sing of Kumar, both dark and light;
A legend of shadows, of valor and might.
His story endures, in the whispers of night;
Kumar al Dsch'vaani, the eternal knight.

Chorus:
Kumar al Dsch'vaani, the hero, the fiend;
A face unadorned and a mind ever keen.
His serpentine blade, always at his side;
Ever victorious was he immortalized.
